Valentine's Giant Double Chocolate Cookie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Base

01 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (28g), softened
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (25g)
03 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar (25g), light or dark
04 - 2 tablespoons beaten egg (30ml)
05 - 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

→ Dry Ingredients

06 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (31g)
07 - 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (10g)
08 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
09 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Mix-ins and Toppings

10 - 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (55g) + 1 tablespoon for topping
11 - 2 teaspoons sprinkles (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. Stir in beaten egg and vanilla.
02 - Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Mix into wet ingredients, then fold in 1/4 cup chocolate chips.
03 - Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Refrigerate dough while oven preheats.
04 - Place dough in center of lined baking sheet, shape into a tall mound. Top with remaining chocolate chips and optional sprinkles.
05 - Bake for 18-22 minutes until edges are set. Center will look soft but will firm while cooling.

01 - Can be divided into 4 smaller cookies
02 - Center will be very soft when done but firms up while cooling
03 - Brief chilling helps prevent excessive spreading
