Quick Sweet Cinnamon Twists (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
03 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
07 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
08 - Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting or glaze)

# Instructions:

01 - Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the pastry into a rectangle (25 x 30 cm or 10 x 12 inches), smoothing any creases gently without pressing too hard. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Combine granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar (if using) in a small bowl. Optionally, stir in vanilla extract for added flavor.
03 - Spread the melted butter evenly across the rolled-out puff pastry. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the butter, ensuring even coverage.
04 - Fold the dough in half lengthwise, pressing gently to seal slightly while preserving the layers. Cut the folded dough into strips approximately 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
05 - Hold each strip by the ends and twist in opposite directions to form spirals. Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet with 2.5 cm (1 inch) spacing. Gently press any spilled sugar back onto the twists.
06 - Brush the twists with the beaten egg. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and puffed. Monitor after 10 minutes to prevent over-browning.
07 - Allow the twists to cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with a glaze.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure puff pastry remains cool but pliable during preparation for optimal texture.
