Cheesy Pizza Tater Tot Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)
02 - 1 small onion, diced
03 - 2 cups marinara or pizza sauce
04 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
05 - Salt and pepper, to taste
06 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
07 - 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots

→ Optional Toppings

08 - ½ cup mini pepperoni slices
09 - ½ cup sliced black olives
10 - ½ bell pepper, diced
11 - ¼ cup sliced green onions
12 - ¼ cup mushrooms, sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
02 - Brown ground beef and onion in skillet until beef is cooked and onion is soft, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
03 - Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes.
04 - Spread beef mixture in baking dish. Top with 1 cup cheese, then arrange tater tots in single layer. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup cheese on top.
05 - Bake 25-30 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy and cheese is melted.
06 - Add optional pizza toppings and bake additional 5 minutes to heat through.

01 - Can use ground turkey or Italian sausage instead of beef
02 - Vegetarian option: omit meat and add more vegetables
