Penne with Meat Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 ounces penne pasta.
02 - Salt to taste.
03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil.
04 - 2 cups chopped onion.
05 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
06 - Pinch red pepper flakes.
07 - 2 garlic cloves, chopped.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme.
09 - Black pepper.
10 - 1 pound ground beef.
11 - 2 1/2 cups tomato sauce.
12 - 3 fresh basil leaves.
13 - 1 teaspoon sugar.
14 - 1 tablespoon parsley.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oil and cook onions with seasonings until soft. Add garlic and thyme.
02 - Add beef and cook until browned. Pour in tomato sauce, basil, and sugar.
03 - Let sauce bubble gently while pasta cooks.
04 - Boil penne in salted water until tender but firm.
05 - Toss hot pasta with sauce. Top with fresh parsley.

01 - Sauce gets better next day.
02 - Use any tube pasta you like.
03 - Freezes well for 3 months.
