Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Mix in flour and salt until just combined. Stir in nuts.

Form into 1-inch balls, rolling smooth between hands.

Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar. Cool on rack, then roll again in sugar.
