Caramel Chocolate Cookie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Bars

01 - 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 cup butter, softened
05 - ¾ cup sugar
06 - ¾ cup packed brown sugar
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 2 eggs
09 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

→ Caramel Sauce

10 - 5 ounces evaporated milk
11 - 1 bag (14 ounces) caramels
12 - ½ cup peanut butter

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease 9x13-inch pan.
02 - Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
03 - Spread half of cookie dough into prepared pan. Bake 8-10 minutes.
04 - While dough bakes, melt caramels and evaporated milk in double boiler. Add peanut butter after caramels melt. Spread over baked cookie base.
05 - Drop remaining cookie dough by spoonfuls on top of caramel mixture.
06 - Bake 15-20 minutes until light golden brown.

01 - Allow to cool before cutting for cleaner slices
02 - Store in airtight container up to 5 days
