→ Honey BBQ Sauce

08 - ½ cup (120ml) barbecue sauce
09 - 2 tablespoons honey
10 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
11 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
12 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
13 - ½ teaspoon chili powder (optional)

→ Rice and Creamy Base

14 - 1 cup (180g) uncooked white rice (long-grain or jasmine recommended)
15 - 1 ¾ cups (420ml) beef broth (low-sodium)
16 - ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
17 - ½ cup (50g) shredded cheddar cheese
18 - 1 tablespoon butter
19 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
20 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
21 - Salt and pepper to taste
22 - Fresh parsley, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Add sliced flank steak and toss until fully coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes or up to an hour in the refrigerator.
02 - Whisk together barbecue sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and chili powder (if using). Set aside.
03 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear marinated steak in a single layer for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside, covering loosely with foil.
04 - Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, onions, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until onions are soft and translucent.
05 - Add uncooked rice to the skillet and stir to coat. Toast for 1-2 minutes until slightly golden. Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid absorbed.
06 - Stir in heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined. Season with additional salt and pepper, if needed.
07 - Return seared steak and any juices to the skillet. Pour honey BBQ sauce over the steak. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken sauce.
08 - Sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish for garnish. Serve hot straight from the skillet.

# Notes:

01 - Marinating the steak enhances flavor and tenderizes the meat, making every bite juicy and flavorful.
02 - Toasting rice before cooking brings out a nutty flavor and prevents it from overcooking.
03 - Use freshly grated cheddar cheese for the best texture in the creamy sauce.
