Creamy Beef and Shells (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 ounces medium pasta shells
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - 6 ounces extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 1/2 cups)

→ Sauce Base

04 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
05 - 1/2 medium sweet onion, diced
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
07 - 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
08 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

→ Sauce

09 - 2 cups beef stock
10 - 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
11 - 3/4 cup heavy cream
12 - Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions; drain well.
02 - Brown ground beef in olive oil over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes, crumbling as it cooks. Drain fat and set aside.
03 - Cook onion until translucent, 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and Italian seasoning, cook 1 minute.
04 - Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually add beef stock and tomato sauce. Boil, then simmer 6-8 minutes until thickened.
05 - Stir in pasta, beef, and cream. Heat through, season with salt and pepper. Add cheese and stir until melted.
