Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 8x4-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.

Melt butter in light-bottomed pan over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until butter turns chestnut brown and smells nutty.

Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl.

Mash bananas in large bowl. Add browned butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.

Add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just incorporated. Fold in ¾ cup walnuts.

Pour into pan, top with remaining walnuts. Bake 35 minutes, cover with foil, then bake 30-35 minutes more until done.
