Traditional Amish Hamburger Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat Patties

01 - 1½ pounds ground beef
02 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
03 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
04 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Gravy

05 - 2 cups milk, divided
06 - ¼ cup all-purpose flour

→ Vegetables and Cheese

07 - 4-5 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
08 - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
09 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease 9x13 baking dish.
02 - Mix ground beef with seasonings. Form into 6 patties and brown on both sides in skillet. Don't cook through.
03 - In same skillet, whisk 1 cup milk with flour until smooth. Gradually add remaining milk to form gravy. Season with salt and pepper.
04 - Arrange half the potato slices in dish, followed by half the onions. Place patties on top, then layer remaining potatoes and onions.
05 - Pour gravy over everything. Cover with foil and bake 1 hour. Top with cheese and bake uncovered 15 more minutes.
